The Cup of Life

In this first installation I deal with the theme of origin and transformation.
The sculpture is fitted with a contact microphone and any interaction
with the object produces a vibration which is further transformed by
an effect processor and amplified trough a guitar combo. The sculpture
was standing on a round table in one of the rooms of a wonderful country
house of Majorca, transformed in a one weekend gallery with several
artists exhibiting.
During the two days of the event people could touch the sculpture freely to play with the sounds and discover its sonic possibilities. In the evening we made a performance inspired by the symbolic content of the cup, in collaboration with my friend Jordi Minguella, a young actor from Barcelona.
